Tensions are running high in a normally serene Sutherland Shire cul-de-sac after mysterious skid marks appeared overnight on the freshly resurfaced street — just days after local residents Gary and Sharon Mills gifted their teenage son Blake a new XR6 Holden ute for passing his green P-plate test.
The suspicious tire tracks, described by residents as “aggressive fishtails” and “completely unnecessary”, were discovered early Monday morning. Neighbourhood Watch President Doug Henderson immediately launched a full-scale inquiry. “We haven’t seen street crime like this since someone left their wheelie bin out past collection day,” he fumed.
While Blake has denied involvement, locals aren’t convinced. “He’s always revving that thing like he’s at Bathurst,” complained next-door neighbour Marjorie Wills, who insists she was “nearly deafened” while watering her hydrangeas.
Blake’s father, Gary, defended his son, claiming “the skid marks could be from anyone.” He then added, “You ever seen how fast the postie zooms through here? Bloke thinks he’s in the Grand Prix.”
Council confirmed they are “monitoring the situation”, while local Facebook group “Shire Street Justice” has already dubbed Blake “Skid King of Kirrawee.”
In response, the Mills family has reportedly installed motion-sensitive security cameras, though neighbours claim they’ve only captured “Blake practicing aggressive reverse parks.”
Meanwhile, local car wash owners have reported “record profits”, suggesting someone “might be scrubbing burnout evidence” from suspiciously spotless rims. Police are urging calm but warn: “If it skids like an XR6 and sounds like an XR6… it’s probably an XR6.”
