CARINGBAH SOUTH - Tensions flared this week after multiple luxury SUVs carrying unmistakable Eastern Suburbs energy were spotted illegally parked near Flour, during what locals are now calling a targeted pastry extraction operation.
Sources suggest the incursion was triggered by recent social media attention - and one particularly influential recommendation. It’s understood one member of the group had “holidayed” in Bundeena earlier this summer and returned north evangelising about a “cute, quaint little village called Caringbah South.”
Witnesses report a brief convoy of Double Bay Lexus RXs and Mercedes GLCs and GLEs - all parked at assertive angles suggesting a philosophical rejection of signage - descending on the area before disappearing again, crumbs in tow.
“They didn’t even pretend to look for a spot,” said one local. “Hazard lights on, engine running, straight onto the kerb. That’s not parking. That’s a declaration.”
The visitors were quickly identified by a familiar visual profile: precision blonde bobs, oversized sunglasses worn regardless of conditions, and the unmistakable confidence of women with rubenesque figures and absolutely no intention of apologising - for the parking, or the calories.
“They move as a unit,” said another witness. “One stays in the car. One goes in. Orders immediately. This wasn’t curiosity. This was a mission.”
CCTV shows the group bypassing savoury options entirely, heading straight for almond croissants, sourdough loaves, and anything described as “small batch” or “fermented.”
Locals also noted the vehicles were consistently too wide for the space, slightly over lines, and blocking visibility - behaviour experts describe as “textbook GLE energy.”
Council declined to comment, though one parking ranger was seen driving past twice, making eye contact, and deciding today was “not the day.”
As the Eastern Suburbs continue their slow culinary migration south, Sutherland Shire residents offer a gentle reminder: you’re welcome to our beaches, our bakeries, and our coffee.
But the road rules still apply - even if your car cost more than our first home deposit.
